What is Thermi Tight?
The ThermiRF SmartTip thermistor probe introduces controlled thermal energy (via radiofrequency) into the deep tissues, triggering your body’s natural collagen-production response. Over time, this leads to firmer, tighter skin and a more youthful appearance.
It’s safe for people with all skin types and tones, and most people need just a single treatment—a unique advantage over similar radiofrequency procedures. However, the number of sessions you’ll ultimately need will depend on your skin type, the rejuvenation results you want, and the way your body responds to ThermiTight treatments.
What is the procedure for Thermi Tight?
Prior to your skin-tightening treatment, your doctor may recommend that you stop taking medications that increase the risk of bleeding, such as aspirin and anti-inflammatories. You should also increase your water intake, since well-hydrated tissue is more receptive to ThermiTight.
At the start of your ThermiTight procedure, the area being treated will be cleansed, and you’ll get local anesthesia. Once the local anesthetic takes effect, your doctor will make very small incisions and slide a very thin cannula, or probe, underneath your skin. ThermiTight works with a cannula that delivers precisely targeted radiofrequency energy to heat the subdermal tissue in the treatment area. Your doctor will use thermal imaging for guidance and to gauge your skin temperature as well as continuously monitor the temperature under your skin using the same probe.
The minimally invasive treatments can take up to three hours, depending on the targeted area. Since the incisions are small, you won’t require any sutures. Before you leave, your doctor will dress your incisions and provide you with aftercare instructions.
When do you see results from Thermi Tight?
Most patients start to see results in 30 days after the procedure, but the results will continue over the next several months
How long do results from Thermi Tight last?
The results of treatment will usually last between two and five years depending on how well you take care of your skin health, and treatment only takes around an hour.
